Just when you think we have moved past our prejudices something happens that brings you back to the reality in which we live.  Since the election of Donald Trump as president I have been hearing more and more reports about mean and hateful things being said to people that have racial over-tones.

In the recent past it would have been unheard of for people to openly call people the “N” word without being chastised and expected to suffer some negative repercussions.  It appears that saying what ever you think or feel without thought for how the other person will feel is the “new Old norm” and now people feel free to say cruel and nasty things because it appears to be acceptable.

At some point we are going to need to figure out what type of society we want to build.  Do we want a free and open society or do we want a closed and monolithic society?  It’s very difficult to have both types of societies in one country and both do well.  If we want to be the “Land of the free and the home of the brave,” then we must start to act like it.  If all aren’t free, then no one is free.  It’s up to each of us to make America truly great again.  What will you do?  Free yourself, you’ll feel better!!!
