On yesterday Florida made history when the first African-American, Andrew Gillum won the top position as the Democratic nominee for the position of Governor of the state of Florida. He will face the Republican Nominee during the general election on November 6, 2018. I am probably one of many who thought he did not have a realistic chance of winning the nomination, but I remained hopeful as I told others about him. There are times in life when taking a chance is the best option for becoming successful. Others may not see your vision, but the important thing is to keep moving towards your goal. Thinking positively is a good first step, but substantive actions must be taken to make any dream a reality. As you may already know the hard work to win the governor’s race is just beginning. I have pledged myself to do whatever I can to help him win this race. I don’t have a lot of time, resources or money, but the things I can do, I will do to help the cause. If you feel like me, don’t sit on the sidelines waiting for something to happen; make a commitment to reach out in your own way to make a difference. With your help he can win!!!
