You Don’t Always Get What You Want

Beautiful landscape scenery

Although I am not a big fan of Donald Trump I recognize the fact that he was duly elected as President through the same electoral process as my favorite President, Barak Obama. It is not imperative that I like Donald Trump personally, but it is important that the office he holds be respected.

When President Obama was the President I felt the same way. I encouraged others to respect the office of President even though they did not personally like President Obama. My first choice for President Obama’s replacement was Hillary Clinton not Donald Trump; unfortunately, she did not win, but the principle remains the same. It’s all about the office, not about the person. Consequently, I must still hold the same principle true when it comes to President Trump. If truth is a real principle, then truth must remain constant even if I don’t agree with the outcome. The thing that will affect the next election depends on how people feel about the job he does while he is in office. If Trump doesn’t do the job he was elected to do, it is incumbent upon us to make a different choice the next time. Obviously, there will be people who like him regardless as well as those who dislike him regardless of the job he does. Until then, let’s just suck it up and work hard to make the right choice the next time. Free yourself, you’ll feel better!!!
