Gratitude And Attitude

One of the stories from my book Enlightenment-Looking Back To Move Forward, tackles the topic of gratitude.  Gratitude means being thankful or grateful.  Sometimes we use the words, “I appreciate you,” or I am grateful for what you did,” as interchangeable words to let others know we appreciate them.  However, our actions tell a completely different story. Gratitude and appreciation not only involve what we say it also encompasses what we do.  If I say how much I appreciate you, but I fail to show my appreciation in a tangible way the meaning may get lost in the translation.  Everyone wants to feel appreciated, but they also want actions behind what is being said.  Parents want children to show their gratitude by being obedient and making good grades in school.  Wives want husbands to show their gratitude by treating them well without complaint.  There is no right or wrong way to show how much you care.  The important thing is to make sure the other person understands what is meant by your actions.  Get a copy of my book at the Gathering Awareness & Book Center and let’s talk about it on Saturday, November 4.  Look forward to seeing you, “Back On the Blocks” in Pensacola, Florida.
