Everybody’s Got An Opinion

Liberal, politics, vote sign

Since the introduction of Face Book, Twitter, Instagram, Linked-in and many other social media sites, it has become easier for people to express their opinion on any and everything. It doesn’t matter whether or not a person has all the facts; some of the facts; or none of the facts, it has become popular and desirable to make your opinion known to all. Having an opinion does not mean it is right or wrong just because it is expressed, but having an informed opinion is far more relevant than having an uninformed opinion. It seems that truth and honesty have been replaced by random thoughts and emotional displays as the basis for making decisions. Moreover, if anyone dares to have a differing thought from the beliefs of the majority, it is probably advisable to keep that opinion to oneself. Otherwise, the ideas might be considered radical and dangerous. We always say we want people to have their own opinion, but do we really? Don’t be so quick to judge. The next time someone has an opinion different from yours, check yourself to make sure you have given them a fair opportunity to express it. Sometimes you might find that they have a valid point too. Take some time and think about it.
